Shelby is a director and filmmaker with a background in painting, holding a Bachelor’s degree in the field. A lifelong lucid dreamer, she channels what she describes as a “constant flow of memories and lives” into her cinematic work—seeing dreams not as fleeting illusions, but as glimpses into alternate timelines, past lives, and present lessons. Inspired by the dramatic chiaroscuro of Caravaggio and the psychological depth of Rembrandt, she approaches filmmaking with a painterly touch, crafting images that feel both timeless and intimate. Through her work, she seeks to capture the essence of human nature, exploring the tension between the seen and the unseen, the known and the unknown.
